An absolute favorite here, Mini Plush Lops are a small 2 to 4lb designer pet breed of rabbit. These very special bunnies have many of the most desirable traits of many other breeds all rolled into one. The velvety hypoallergenic fur like the Mini Rex, the friendliness and mellow temperament of the Holland, the small size of the Netherland Dwarf, and the lopped ears of the mini lop! Their hypoallergenic rex fur means they produce far less dander and even shed less, making them a wonderful companion for those with allergies to other animals like cats and dogs.
Mini Plush Lops though are known best for their temperaments. This breed is just so easy to handle! They are easily the most friendly breed you can find. Cuddly and sweet to a fault, these bunnies are perfect lifelong companions and wonderful pets for children and families. They are most content on a lap! They love to be cuddled & held and they tolerate our dogs, our chaos and our busy family. They're not easily startled or nervous by nature.
They are incredibly sweet and super easy to care for with minimal grooming. Plushies are the best fit for families who are allergic and want to avoid the excessive shedding and upkeep!
Holland Lops are the foundation of our rabbitry. They are extremely curious and outgoing. Holland lops are the most smallest of the lop eared breed. They commonly get mistaken with mini lops, who are ironically almost twice the size as holland lops. Hollands do range from 2.5-4 pounds when fully matured. This breed is the most popular, especially with families with children. They are easy to handle, require minimum amount of grooming, and have the sweetest personalities that of which remind me of dogs!
The Velveteen Lop Rabbit came about because a California breeder wanted a rabbit that combined the Rex’s plush, lovely coat with a curved body type. Thus, she began breeding Mini Rexes and English Lops. Though the Velveteen Lop took almost 20 years to emerge, it certainly meets that standard. And because of the nature of its parents, the breed has a sweet, docile temperament that makes it an excellent pet. Because of their velvet like fur- these rabbits are low shedding and less maintenance than holland lops.
Rabbits, in general, are fairly easygoing, but the Velveteen Lop rabbit is even more relaxed and chill than other breeds of similar size. The breed has a very laid back disposition & temperament and is known for being friendly, sweet, and affectionate. They love getting attention, so you’ll want to interact with them often. And while the Velveteen Lop can be playful, for the most part, it’s quite calm and docile. They’re very social, though, so they’ll love to hang out with you!
Velveteen Lops are also intelligent, which means you can train them to do many things! Some people train their Velveteen Lops to do tricks or come when called. Others teach them to use litter boxes. You can even train these rabbits to play fetch or walk on a leash. The possibilities are endless!
Velveteen Lops are a medium sized breed of rabbit that may grow up to 6lbs. The lops standout feature is its ears, which can grow 15 inches in length.
Velveteen lop rabbits are not as common of a breed as some other lop breeds so they aren't usually found in pet stores. They are super unique and have the best personalities.
